Lazy Sunday

I wore this yesterday to go home to Long Island. For the Long Island heads I didn't go to Hofstra I actually got this hoody at a thrift store I used to volunteer at. Enjoy the video at the bottom, it's one of my favorite SNL shorts.

Love/Hate

I usually don't go crazy with patterns and color simultaneously but I was feeling experimental yesterday morning as I got dressed for school. I'm not sure how I fell about this outfit, I like it when I left the house, felt foolish in it sitting in class, hated it when I took a look in the mirror when I got home then liked it again today.

Like everyone else I've been in love with the Acne wedges but can't afford them in this life or probably the next. Perhaps I could but I kind of like not starving. Anyway, I'm pretty certain I'll get Jeffrey Campbell's affordable alternative. They're not as magical as the ones from Acne but they look pretty damn good.

I wore this outfit Saturday night to sell books at KGB bar for the last winner of the 3-Day Novel Contest, Jason Rapczynski's debut novel The Videographer. It was the most relaxed event I've worked; the people were friendly and laid back, plus the reading was enjoyable. Sorry for the mean face lol, I'm always exhausted when I come back from selling.

Super Casual

On Fridays I have class at 8:30am and I don't function well early in the morning, so I usually keep it really simple and extra casual. I brought it back to high school with a backpack today, I say that because that's the last time I rocked one on the regular. I got this Polo backpack a few years ago from my brother Jerry and bring it out occasionally. Happy Friday :-D

I Heart Black

I love gray, white, black and navy and I'm not ashamed of it. I used to try to fight it but I like what I like. I wore this yesterday to do the usual: school, errands, whatever. I don't know why I look so sad in that one picture lol.

Faux Pas, Shmo Pa

So we all have heard denim + denim = fashion faux pas but I've always seen the beauty in it. I finally decided to give it a try because one of my favorite bloggers Ivy from Positive Tension did it so well. I think the key is mixing shades; I think playing around with different hues makes it more interesting.

Tee & Leggings 2 Ways

I went to school with the first look and to my internship with the second. If I can slightly change an outfit instead of putting on something entirely new, that's what I do. I like the thought of creating a different look with the same clothes.

On My Own

Yesterday I went to KGB Bar in the East Village to sell books for the first time on my own. I was uber nervous but it was a cool crowd and I got to hear some young talent read their stuff before the headliner, Rivka Galchen, read from her acclaimed short story "The Region of Unlikeness". I was selling her novel Atmospheric Disturbances.

Regarding my outfit pictures I had to get creative with the bathroom mirror in some because I had no one to take them for me :( By the way in a couple of the pictures I have the messenger bag I'm carrying in my previous post, that's the strap that you're seeing.
