I'm a new yorker through and through which means I'm not really a beach person. As you may know, I went to Miami recently and I couldn't pass up going to South Beach because it's so beautiful. I bought this bikini at Walmart for $12 bucks! Anyway, totally had an awesome time at the beach and I think I might be a convert.

While in Miami my friend Ro and I walked around our friend's neighborhood. We spotted a gym called Porky's and decided to take pictures like the true tourists we were. The third picture was taken at a karaoke bar; we sang Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny's Child :-D

I had a blast in Miami. It was a well needed vacation from regular life and nyc. I wore this outfit while going to Florida; I recently rediscovered these leggings that have this cool sheen on them but with a matte finish.

A couple of months ago I helped put on a street culture and fashion symposium at Yale. It was such a cool thing to be apart of. It fused two of my passions: academia and fashion. I wore this outfit on the second day.

I'm usually not one to get into diy projects but I had it in my mind that this poncho would work perfectly as a skirt and it did. I'm so happy with how it came out and got so many compliments on it.

If anyone is interested as to how I did the poncho skirt, just let me know and I'll definitely whip up a how to.
